The Best Chai Cookies

A simple spiced butter cookie. A favorite tea time snack!

Recipe
Ingredients
113 grams unsalted butter
30 grams icing sugar
130 grams All purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 Sachet loose leaf tea of your choice (I used Melvins masala chai tea bag)
Procedure
Preheat the oven to 180 c
Cream butter and icing sugar till light and creamy
Add flour, salt, tea bag sachet to the butter mixture and combine gently, making sure not to over work the dough
Bring the dough together on cling film, being very gentle with the mixture
Refrigerate the dough for 20 minutes before rolling out onto a surface to your desired thickness
Using a cookie cutter dipped in flour, cut out shapes and lay them on a parchment or silicone baking sheet
Bake for 17 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown and enjoy
These cookies can well in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. You can also freeze the dough after making it and bake when ready
